Welcome to Recruit Class 25-01
Anne Arundel Young Marines drills (meets) every other Sunday afternoon. We include a wide range of activities from close order drill (marching), physical fitness, classes on leadership and drug education, fun games, and team building exercises.
Many of the events are led by the Young Marines themselves under the close supervision of our adult volunteers.
Youth participation in community service fosters a sense of responsibility and self-awareness. It equips our Young Marines with practical skills such as teamwork and problem solving. Empowering our youth to give back instills a lifelong commitment to service and encourages them to take ownership of their communities to become better citizens.
Our Young Marines are taught to appreciate the sacrifices our veterans have made to keep us free. The unit participates in numerous veterans appreciation and patriotic events throughout the county. Events include parades on Memorial Day and the 4th of July, placing flags and wreaths at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, and special Veterans Day visitations.
We participate in the Young Marines 12th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Gene Overstreet Shooting Sports Program.
Marksmanship and safety classes are taught by NRA certified instructors and Range Safety Officers.
We have partnered with expert certified instructors to provide our members with a unique opportunity to learn a new skill and enjoy a day in the outdoors.
To get the widest range of experiences, we include a variety of activities outside of our normal drill. Day trips can include going on hikes, kayaking, working out at Gold's Gym or attending a baseball game.
